Vanadium Nitrogen Alloy VN16 Overview Vanadium Nitrogen Alloy VN16 is a high-nitrogen vanadium alloy containing 14.0–18.0% nitrogen. Its higher nitrogen content makes it suitable for steel grades where efficient vanadium-nitrogen microalloying is required. With higher vanadium and nitrogen content compared with VN12 alloy, VN16 provides stronger grain refinement and precipitation strengthening effects during steelmaking.
