304 Stainless Steel Round Bar – Product Introduction, Features & Applications
Product Introduction
AISI 304 stainless-steel round bar is the industry’s most widely used austenitic bar grade. Its balanced 18 % Cr / 8 % Ni chemistry forms a self-healing passive film that delivers excellent general corrosion resistance, good weldability and deep-drawability at a cost lower than molybdenum-bearing grades. Bars are produced by hot-rolling, cold-drawing or peeling, then straightened and polished to tight dimensional tolerances. Standard diameters range 3 mm – 500 mm (⅛” – 20”), lengths 1 – 6 m or random; finishes include centreless ground, peeled, bright-polished (Ra ≤ 0.2 µm) and peeled-turned-ground (PTG). Mill test certificates to ASTM A276, A479, EN 10278 and JIS G4303 accompany every batch .
