A Detachable Trailer Side Hinge (often called a Lift-Off Hinge or Slip-Joint Hinge) is a two-piece hardware system that allows you to swing a trailer’s side panel open like a normal door, or lift it off entirely without using tools. While a standard hinge is permanently joined by a pinned center, a detachable hinge is designed to "unplug," allowing you to convert a utility trailer into a flatbed in seconds. How It Works: The "Male & Female" Design These hinges consist of two distinct parts that slide together: The Gudgeon (Male Part): This is a heavy-duty bracket with a fixed vertical pin.
